Let the madness begin!

This month we have been away pretty much every weekend in our lovely caravan Bertie trying to squeeze in as much relaxing time as possible before the craziness of the summer begins.

Toadstool Vintage will be taking part in numerous vintage events over the summer from fairs to festivals (sprinked with a couple of holidays so we don't go insane!). It's going to be a manic few months but it'll be well worth it.

Over the past few weekends we have been all over Britain from Devon to Builth Wells in Wales. I take an annual pilgrimage to Wonderwool Wales with my sister and my niece, partly because I'm obsessed with all things knitted or crocheted and I'm also an avid felter and have recently got into weaving so it was an event not to be missed! The weather was beautiful and it was lovely to have a chill out in the sunshine. There was a fantastic stall at Wonderwool which sold a fab selection vintage bits and bobs such as curtains, linen, knitting needles, bobbins etc and I picked myself up a nice old metal and wood bobbin together with a few coconut shaped balls of pure wool in lovely natural colours so I can get started with my weaving.

My other fave stall was a lady called Jenny Barnett who makes beautiful ceramic statues which she then clothes in the finest handmade felt dresses. I had to take a few pics of her wonderful use of old vintage cases to display her goodies. Her felt dresses are almost ethereal looking as they are so delicate and beautiful.

We're off to the Big Apple next week for a lovely week of sightseeing and shopping so the shop will be open on a select few days only but we will try and bring back some american vintage goodies for the shop to make up for it!
